We Use Silk Flowers for Our Budget Wedding Centerpieces.

Posted by Michael L. Yublosky on September 28, 2008

Silk flowers have become an attractive alternative to real flowers for the budget minded bride’s wedding reception centerpieces. In addition to the advantages cited below, you can prepare well ahead of time if you are making do it yourself wedding centerpieces. You do not have to worry as much about breaking or damaging silk flower centerpieces as with real flowers. And you can easily transport your centerpieces ahead of time to your reception. Look for silk flowers in dollar stores and hobby stores, although advanced planning, time and leg work are required. Local and Web based floral distributors are another source, although more expensive. You might even test your luck on EBay!

Here is another recent reference….

“The scented silk flower is also being used nowadays in place of fresh flowers as they are a little more affordable and are quite practical. Silk flowers have longevity and can be kept as a memory of the wedding day. You don’t have to worry about wilting of the flowers due to heat during the wedding; however, they do not feel like real flowers. After the wedding, you could use them in arrangements around your house.”

Make Tall Flower Do It Yourself Wedding Centerpieces and Tall Theme Centerpieces using Flexible Plastic Tubes

Posted by Michael L. Yublosky on September 7, 2008

Here’s how flexible plastic tubes add height and allure to party centerpieces for do-it-yourselfers. These showpiece effects can be used with real flower and silk flower arrangements as well as on theme centerpieces. Flexible plastic tubes are less expensive than heavier acrylic tubes and glass towers. They are light weight for lower shipping charges, non-breakable for easier handling, and are easily cut to size to fit your designs. Make sure when you design a tall or tower centerpiece, you do not obstruct your guests’ views when seating at the tables.
