The NFL’s pre-season kicked off yesterday in a somewhat dismal fashion for our home town Chicago Bears football team. While there is still hope for a championship, or even just a post season appearance, I thought it appropriate to re-visit a recent Chicago Bears theme Bar Mitzvah party celebration.
Mikey took some before and after room videos and our friend Jack Hoyt supplied us with professional stills. Shown are several different centerpieces, a place card table name centerpiece as well as a candle lighting.
The central theme can be carried over and used for other football teams. The centerpieces are also available for do it yourself enthusiasts and come in easy to assemble make your own kits.
We have two custom football place cards to show you today so you can get some ideas.
The first has a football logo and was done with a VIP seating theme for Joey’s Game Day which took place this past April.
The place card is shown to the left and was made with a white background. The card was sized to fit into a plastic badge pouch worn around the neck to look like a game pass (as shown below).
The second custom place card is a dark blue Super Bowl theme which was made to look like a ticket to Ethan’s game.
We hope these give you some ideas on how to make customized place cards for your upcoming sports themed party or event.
Let us know how you customize your celebration and we could put it onlione!

This past weekend we had the privilege of setting up the centerpiece and balloon decorations for Daniel’s Bar Mitzvah party in Buffalo Grove, IL. The theme was da Chicago Bears’ football! The party participants were greeted at the place card table with this “name” centerpiece.
Two different sized Chicago Bears football themed centerpieces decorated the tables, along with matching balloons. There were one level centerpieces with a picture of one of Daniel’s favorite players.
As well as two-level centerpieces, again with pictures and names of favorite players. The two level centerpieces also have a Chicago Bears’ bag as a base.
During the celebration party this Chicago Bears football theme candle lighting was a hit!
We will have a video up on YouTube within a few days with room shots and other centerpieces from Daniel’s party. Look for it soon!

Our new video demonstrates how to put together a DIY violin cut out for a music theme party centerpiece. The centerpiece includes strings and a bow. The strings are made from white yarn, heavy black card stock and clear push pins. We start with a plain white polystyrene violin cut out, seal it and paint it. Judy paints F holes, adds a tail piece, fine tuners as well as a bow with fishing string hair.
The violin and bow are added to a budget “Just Add Sand” centerpiece base and accented with two pieces of onion grass. Balloons, a table name and table place cards together make an economical violin theme centerpiece for a Bat Mitzvah, Bar Mitzvah, wedding, special event or party!
This video demonstrates how you can make a different style baseball sports theme centerpiece. It starts from our baseball infield base kit with enhancements and adds accent pieces. Those pieces include a plastic bat and ball, a mini-baseball pennant, three baseball cards on a pick, a baseball sports theme picture, a mini- baseball batting helmet and four coordinating mylar paper poofs.

I attach three stars to wooden dowels, accent with onion grass and add to a budget “Just Add Sand” centerpiece base. With balloons, a table name and place cards you can have an economical “You Are A Star!” theme for your next party.
We show how to make an economical music note centerpiece in this video we posted last night.
