Our new video demonstrates how to put together a DIY violin cut out for a music theme party centerpiece. The centerpiece includes strings and a bow. The strings are made from white yarn, heavy black card stock and clear push pins. We start with a plain white polystyrene violin cut out, seal it and paint it. Judy paints F holes, adds a tail piece, fine tuners as well as a bow with fishing string hair.
The violin and bow are added to a budget “Just Add Sand” centerpiece base and accented with two pieces of onion grass. Balloons, a table name and table place cards together make an economical violin theme centerpiece for a Bat Mitzvah, Bar Mitzvah, wedding, special event or party!

This video demonstrates how you can make a different style baseball sports theme centerpiece. It starts from our baseball infield base kit with enhancements and adds accent pieces. Those pieces include a plastic bat and ball, a mini-baseball pennant, three baseball cards on a pick, a baseball sports theme picture, a mini- baseball batting helmet and four coordinating mylar paper poofs.

We are regularly asked how to secure the flexible plastic tubes to a base to make a tall air filled balloon centerpiece. We have several suggestions, which incl
ude:
One technique, as shown to the left, is to glue to a 3/8″ piece of plywood. We cut a circular pattern, just a little bit larger than the circumference of the flexible plastic tube, about 1/2″ into the wood and glue the tube in the hole. Here you might consider added some weight to the base or inside the tube to keep it balanced and free from wobbling. This mainly depends on the length of the tube and what you put on the top.
Another example is inserting and gluing into a 1-1/2″ styrofoam base (below) or styrofoam brick. With this technique you need to have some weight on the base or inside the tube itself with a smaller base. However, you probably do not need weight with an 11″ or 12″ round or square base.

Our newest YouTube video shows how we use acrylic paint to decorate and highlight a hockey player sports cut out. After painting, glitter paint is added to make the details “sparkle.” The hockey player cut out can be put onto one of our budget “Just Add Sand” centerpiece bases. Use two pieces of onion grass to highlight.
Add balloons and table name cards with coordinated place cards to make an economical budget Hockey theme for your Bat Mitzvah, Bar Mitzvah, wedding, special event or party!

We added a new YouTube video this week. It is how to make a beach theme centerpiece.
It was a family participation. Ely did the narration, first time. Good job Ely! Mikey wrote the script, produced, directed, shot and edited the video and audio. And I was the demonstrator!
You can download the pdf of the narrative at our site.
